HEY DJ: Here's how to add/modify your DJ Profile on JustCircuit.com!

Since we have such a large number of DJ’s who contribute weekly Top 10 Play lists, play dates, residencies and PodCasts to our community we thought the next best topic for my “How To” series of posts would focus on helping our DJ community add and edit their entries.

If you notice we mentioned PodCasts specifically. We’d decided that since so many of our DJs now offer PodCasts we’d give them a place to highlight theirs.

How To:

• The first step to Add or Edit a DJ profile is to navigate to the MUSIC section of the site. This can be done from any page by selecting MUSIC from the top navigation bar.

• To add a new DJ simply scroll to the bottom of the DJs section and click Add New Record.

• To modify an existing DJ profile type part of the DJ name in the DJs search box and press search.

• Once you find your entry press (Modify Entry) next to the DJ name. The (Modify Entry) link will only appear next to DJs YOU have added using your JustCircuit.com username.
• On the Edit User Defined Table page, fill out as much of the form as possible.
• For Website there are several options that much be selected. First click the URL (A Link To An External Resource ) radio button. Next type in the full URL to your website starting with http://. Finally select the Open Link In New Browser Window?.

• For PodCast click the URL (A Link To An External Resource ) radio button. Next type in the full URL to your PodCast starting with http://. Finally select the Open Link In New Browser Window?.

• For pictures we now offer 2 options.

o The first option is you can select the URL (A Link To An External Resource ) radio button then in the location field you an type the full path to a picture on another website.

o Option 2 is uploading a picture to the JustCircuit.com DJ Profile Pictures folder. To upload a picture to our site click the File ( A File On Your Site ) radio button, then select Upload New File.

o Next choose User Files/DJ Profile Pictures/ from the File Locations drop down.
o Press the Browse button, then find the picture you’d like to upload from the computer you’re currently connecting from. One you’ve found the picture click OK or Open.
o Finally click the Upload Selected File link.

• Once you’re completely finished filling out the DJ Profile form select the Update button at the very bottom of the page.

Hope this latest installment simplifies the process of Adding or Updating DJ Profiles on the site. We’ve really tried to make this process as simple and painless as possible.

How To: Join and Manage Forums by Email

We’ve been working very hard on a great new feature that we believe will bring new life to the Forums section. This new feature is the JustCircuit ListServ and it gives our users the ability to subscribe to our forums and receive updates via email. It also allows you to respond or sent new messages to the ListServ via email and have those messages reflected in our forums.

This next installment in our “HOW TO” series describes how to signup for this free new service, how to use it and how to control when messages are delivered.

Signing up for the JustCircuit ListServ is extremely easy. If you’re not already a registered user of JustCircuit.com you will need to register to take part in our forums. Simply click the Register link (pictured below) just under the top navigation bar and follow the registration wizard.

Registered users must be logged onto the website. Once you’re logged on navigate to the Forums section by selecting the Forums link on the top navigation bar (pictured below).

Next select the General Discussion message forum.

From the General Discussion forum view select the checkbox next to “Click to subscribe to this forum.”

Once you select the checkbox you will notice that it changes to “You are subscribed to this forum. Click to unsubscribe.”. Congratulations you’ve just subscribed to the forum and will start to receive updates via email. The default delivery setting to receive messages as soon as they are posted to the site. You can modify how frequently receive emails by changing your email delivery options (below).

Users no longer interested in receiving emails can simply uncheck the box and we will no longer send messages.

Changing Email Delivery Options
Once you’ve subscribed to receive forum updates via email you may modify your email delivery options. Modifying your email subscription type allows to you to change if and when emails are delivered, you can select from 4 options: Disabled, Instant, Daily Digest and Weekly Digest.

•    Disabled will disable email updates. This is the same as unsubscribing.
•    Instant will send messages immediately after they are posted to the site.
•    Daily Digest will deliver a single message daily containing all new messages.
•    Weekly Digest will deliver a single weekly message containing all new updates.

To change Email deliver options navigate to the Forums section of JustCircuit.com then select My Profile just under the top navigation menu.

From the profile window select the My Preferences tab then click the Subscription Type dropdown to configure your email delivery setting. Once you have made your configuration change click the Save button.

Users who wish to stop receiving messages from the JustCircuit ListServ can set their Subscription Type to Disabled or they can click the “You are subscribed to this forum. Click to unsubscribe.” checkbox from the General Discussion forum view.

Using the ListServ
Once you’ve subscribed to the JustCircuit ListServ using it is extremely easy. Users can interact with our forums in several ways. You can login to JustCircuit.com to read, post and reply to messages directly on our website or you can read, post and reply via email.

Posting and replying to messages are the same as any other message. Simply compose email from any email client. On the to line type JC-ListServ (at) JustCircuit.com, title, type your message and send. Please note the email address listed has been modified to keep SPAM spiders from copying it. Remove extra spaces and replace (at) with @.

Replying to threads is just as simple. Click the Reply button, type your response remove any previous email thread or history and click send. When replying to messages there are 2 important rules, which should be followed:

• When replying to messages ALWAYS remove all thread history (previous message contents) prior to sending.
• NEVER modify the message subject. Modifying the message subject will cause the forums to create a new message thread rather then replying an exiting thread.

Simple Posting Guidelines
JustCircuit is an information portal and as such we would like to keep the flow of information free and unencumbered. In order to help us do we have ask that you follow these simple guidelines when posting:

•    Keep in mind that this is a public forum.
•    Unfounded lies and slander will not be tolerated.
•    Keep your discussions civil.
•    Event and Self-promotion is fine, but do not SPAM the forum. Post your upcoming event information once.

Occasional updates are permitted, however if we see you sending updates weekly and/or daily we will take action.
Users who can’t abide by these rules will be blocked from posting publically.

DJ Peter Rauhofer has died; Lost a long battle with brain cancer

May 7, 2013, Fort Lauderdale, FL: We lost a very good friend to cancer today.....Grammy Award winning DJ Peter Rauhofer was a friend to many and a master to all who love music. There will never be another like him, and the memories we take with us will last an eternity. All of us at JustCircuit send our love to his family and friends around the world. The World is YOURS Peter! May you rest in peace.

Statement from Angelo Russo of Star69 Records:

Today the music industry has lost one of it's true heroes.
With a heavy heart I must now report that Peter Rauhofer has lost his battle with brain cancer.
He passed quietly today and is survived by his mother, Helga, who resides in Austria.
She will transport Peter back home to his final resting place there, but to all that knew Peter, his heart will always be in New York City.
It makes me sad, not only that I have lost a friend, but that the world has lost an amazing talent and that future generations will never get to understand the magic that Peter created night after night all over the world.
He is gone too soon but we will always have the vast body of music that Peter left for us.
Through his music, Peter will live forever. The brightest stars always burn out too soon. Peter, you were loved and you will be terribly missed. Goodbye my friend. Please rest in peace knowing that you have brought so much joy to so many of us. I ask that his true fans keep his legacy alive by sharing his music with anyone who may not have had the opportunity to experience it for themselves.

Breaking News: Peter Rauhofer diagnosed with brain tumor

A longtime friend and the 2013 JustCircuit Awards DJ of the Year, Peter Rauhofer is currently in a New York City hospital after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. This afternoon, Peter's manager, Angelo Russo, announced the following on Peter's Facebook page:

"Dear Friends and Loyal Fans,

As Peter Rauhofer's manager and dear friend for many years, it is my sad duty to announce that Peter was rushed to the emergency room several weeks ago. After confirming that Peter had a seizure, further testing has revealed a large brain tumor, something that has gone undiagnosed for quite some time.

At this time, Peter's family is working closely with a team of talented Neurologists to determine the overall best treatment option. Please be assured that he is getting the absolute finest care possible, twenty-four hours a day.

I know Peter would appreciate your kind consideration and positive energy during this extremely difficult period. We will post any updates and progress reports as they become available.

Feel free to post your condolences as well as check into this page for updates.

Peter Rauhofer is loved by everyone here at JustCircuit. His relationship with Shane and Victor has spanned over a decade. One Mighty Weekend made the following announcement on the One Mighty Weekend Facebook page:

"Johnny Chisholm and his entire team at One Mighty Weekend are keeping Peter Rauhofer in their thoughts and prayers as he fights the greatest battle of his life. We have been in constant contact over the past weeks in the hopes that a better diagnosis would be found. We have also been in negotiation with another World-Renowned DJ to take his place at Magic Journeys May 31st in Orlando in the event Peter would not be able to perform. Given the sad news today that Peter is in a critical condition we take this moment to wish him a speedy recovery and announce that Danny Tenaglia will now be taking the stage and spinning the hottest first night of Magic Journeys on Friday, May 31st 2013 at Arabian Nights. Let's pay tribute to Peter and pack the dance floor, sending him our love."

Anyone else a fan of 'classic house' music mixed sets?

I love house music, period! However, I'm much more of a fan of house music from the mid 90's to early 00's. Very grateful for the advent of podcasting technology and love putting out new sets of mixed music, but am especially grateful for finally being able to share all my old sets of 'classic house' music that I've made and shared over the years with friends and followers. Finally converted all my old tapes and CDs to MP3 format and uploaded them to my podcast site. So much easier to share with others that way than burning discs and making labels and heading down to the post office! If you are so inclined, check out my podcast page. We have 10 classic sets from 1996 to 2004 and we also have 3 new sets from this past year uploaded. If you're not only just a fan of that style of music, but also of the mix, I think you'll enjoy what we have. Though programming is very important to me, the mix between the songs is what really pumps those endorphins. Check it out. They're available for download or just to play on the website. Enjoy!

PALM SPRINGS, Calif.-- White Party Palm Springs Producer Jeffrey Sanker, the “high priest of gay parties,” announced he will be crowning Miami Real Housewife Adriana De Moura as Queen of White Party 2013, anointing Amazing Race runner-up & Chippendales star Jaymes Vaughan as Official 2013 Ambassador and bestowing the title of Dame of White Party 2013 to the diva Madame. Together they will host and provide color commentary for the White Carpet VIP arrivals at White Party 2013 on Saturday night, March 30, at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

“I can’t wait to bestow unto her the title of ‘DAME!’”

“In keeping with our love affair with Bravo’s Real Housewives, we are thrilled to have Adriana De Moura as our 2013 Queen of White Party,” said Sanker. Also during the course of weekend events, De Moura will perform an extravagantly produced sexy samba version of her song, “Feel the Rush,” the theme from season two of The Real Housewives of Miami.

“We are also very excited to have incredibly talented Jaymes Vaughan serving as our first-ever official White Party Ambassador,” Sanker added. Vaughan is the runner-up in the hit CBS series The Amazing Race. He is also known world-wide as an out and proud member of the Chippendales at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Joining them on the White Carpet will be the world’s most infamous diva, Madame. The turbaned temptress of countless TV shows, from Laugh-In to Hollywood Squares, will bring her biting wit to White Party for the very first time – introducing a whole new generation of boys to her sassy (puppetry) style! And says Sanker, “I can’t wait to bestow unto her the title of ‘DAME!’”

GRGR/West Announces Fundraising Results for REAL BAD XXIV: Was voted "Circuit Party of the Year 2011"

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. November 08, 2012 -- Grass Roots Gay Rights West (GRGR/West), producers of the annual REAL BAD fundraising party that follows San Francisco’s world-renowned Folsom Street Fair, today announced the fundraising results from REAL BAD XXIV, which was held on Sunday, September 23, 2012. REAL BAD XXIV was a sell-out success, raising a record $200,000 for LGBT and HIV/AIDS beneficiaries that serve the community. As of REAL BAD XXIV, over $1.7 million has been donated to community beneficiary organizations over the event’s history.

The beneficiary organizations that will share the funds raised, which include 100 percent of the money collected from general admission ticket sales, are:

AIDS Emergency Fund (AEF): A provider of financial resources to prevent homelessness and add stability to the lives of those disabled by HIV/AIDS.
Alliance Health Project (AHP): An organization that brings the skills and expertise of UCSF, one of the nation's leading health sciences universities, to an LGBTQ community‐based clinic.
Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center: A provider of education, support, empowerment and advocacy for Asian and Pacific Islander communities — particularly those living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.
Bay Area Young Positives: An organization that helps young people, ages 14 to 26, living with HIV/AIDS live longer, happier, healthier, more productive and quality-filled lives through peer-based services.
GLBT Historical Society: An organization that collects, preserves, and interprets the history of GLBT people and the communities that support them.

“Over twenty-four years, REAL BAD has grown from its humble beginning as a small fundraiser to become an important community event, produced and supported by a committed Circle of Friends, benefiting organizations that produce lasting results in the San Francisco LGBT community,” stated Craig Cochran, event chair for REAL BAD XXIV. “I am very proud of the hard working individuals, members of the working group, hosts, and sponsors, and attendees for helping donate a record $200,000 to our worthy beneficiaries this year, and putting us in a great position as we prepare for our twenty-fifth year.”

REAL BAD, the dance party immediately following the Folsom Street Fair, is an annual fundraising event benefiting LGBT charities with local impact in San Francisco. REAL BAD is completely volunteer-produced, and is distinct in that the costs of producing the event are underwritten entirely by the party’s Hosts, a Circle of Friends who volunteers their time and resources to make REAL BAD a yearly sell-out success.
