DAVID KNAPP KICKS OFF THE NEW SEASON OF GLOBAL GROOVE The release of the latest Global Groove, and the first of 2003, is nearly at hand. This new continuous mix has been dubbed Global Groove: House 2 and features a host of tracks sitting on the very forefront of the club scene today. When you pop House 2 into your player, you will hear a sinuous take on Peter Gabriel’s “Solsbury Hill” by Erasure that will start you on your journey through a delectable selection of tracks. The intensity of this mix grows and grows and will not let you go. David Knapp is the DJ who has set out to take you through this experience. While he has made a new home for himself and his family in Atlanta (yes... David is now a proud new father), David’s roots lie in the nation’s most popular nightclubs. A true veteran, David has held residencies from the infamous Twilo in New York to the outdoor playground of Amnesia in Miami Beach. Those who expect the signature style of David will not be disappointed, but new grooves and exciting changes have taken place. He says that Global Groove: House 2 will have “many different styles on it” and the flow he has created through them is fantastic. Global Groove: House 2 pulls you into that flow with the previously mentioned Erasure which sends you into the smooth portion of the CD with future superstar Mia on “Dreamgirl Part 2,” and legendary diva Gloria Gaynor with “I Never Knew.” Shifting gears to a higher level, Sieg Uber Die Sonne offers up a track reminiscent of DJ Pierre’s pitch house, ‘I’m Not A Sound,” and moves on to Thunderpuss & Barnes’ self-produced “Head.” The full out energy kicks in after the tribal sounds of Raiphi Rosario and Linda Clifford’s vocals in the track “I Hear the Music.” Rounding out the selection are offers from Joi Cardwell, Dolce, and a song that David predicts will be the next huge international hit, “Talk 2 Me” by K-Klass and Kinane. David Knapp delivers a thoroughly invigorating set of music and, as will hear, he fulfills that promise with aplomb and a discerning ear for the past and future. House 2 is his third Global Groove CD (Dignity & Livin’ Out Loud) from David Knapp. David has also mixed four White Party CDs and last year’s inaugural Motorball CD. Global Groove: House 2 will be available in stores nationwide beginning April29, including Virgin, Borders Books & Music, SPEC*s Music, Tower Records, Camelot, HMV, and Blockbuster, and online at www.grooveCD.com where visitors can listen to samples of every track on the album.
