Atlanta, GA - Saturday, July 25 - Joining Hearts is a non-profit organization that raises money for two local charities, AidAtlanta (www.aidatlanta.org) and Jerusalem House (www.jerusalemhouse.org), and is celebrating their 23rd year. The party festivities began on Thursday night at the W Midtown for Indulge with Chris Coleman Enterprises spun by DJ Scott Anthony. There were bar tab raffles, giveaways a VIP Weekend Pass for Atlanta Pride, Aveda Gift Basket, and a $100 Desserts by David (David Gallent - One of the best desserts chefs in Atlanta)
On Friday night, there was a long lines and a pack crowd at the Heretic where DJ Eddie Baez tore it up with unrelentless beats and mashups. Eddie was on fire the entire night and really set the tone for the rest of the weekend. Joining Hearts volunteers sold really strong shots of liquor, The Heretic donated a portion of the door, and Eddie himself donated a portion of his fee as well. The crowd never left the dance floor until the very end. It was a definite treat to have such a great talent with a good heart.
Saturday afternoon at Piedmont Park Pool was the place to be at at as DJ Mike Pope (djmikepope.podomatic.com) kicked off the festivities at 4pm as the sun seared with extremely high heat indexes. Mike Pope who just recently headlined Rites of Spring and is headlining DJ at Charlotte Pride this October, hit the ground running with perfect pool party music sound on high octane. The crowd's energy was building steadlily and then 6pm hit with the outside speakers were turned on and the tent over the DJ booth went down. The music went into overdrive and Roland Belamarus (djrolandbelmares.podomatic.com) jumped on stage at 7pm and brought the house down. Roland, the music, the crowd, and the full moon all came to a climax at 10pm with the fireworks display. Roland' set was fierceness personafied and it was beautiful.
The sold our crowd of less than 1000 Joining Hearts attendees more than doubled in size to 2000 people packing out Jungle to hear Oren Nizri spin the after party. There was a line to get in the door. I wished Alan T was there to run the door, but Jungle security did the best they could. It was 110 degrees easy inside the club with pockets of air conditioning to keep attendees cool while Oren put the crowd in dancing frenzy. That was one of the best sets I heard Oren spin and Atlanta is still talking about his event.
Atlanta is known for parties that used to go until 8am in the morning, The crowd left Jungle and moved to Spring and 4th to hear local DJ, Martin Fry spin to massive crowd. I don't have the numbers, but from my understanding it was just as packed there as itr was at Jungle. Keep looking for more pictures and I will have an update in the next couple months with total fundraising and the amount donated to AID Atlanta and Jerusalem House.
