Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico; DJ Brian Beck has called Atlanta, Georgia his home for many years. Having a deep abiding passion for music, he eventually became inspired to channel his love of music towards becoming a DJ. Brian recalls that he initially felt inspired to pursue his DJ aspirations after experiencing the formidable energy created by legendary Atlanta Radio DJ Yvonne Monet. At an early age, I was seduced by HOUSE music coming from the masters of the steel wheels to likes of Ralphi Rosario, Frankie Knuckles and the original "Hot Mix Five". Living on the South Side of Chicago was filled with many dance spots for young party people. It was a real treat to hear big time DJ's and see them in action. I began to take notice of the hustle in the DJ booth and it drew me closer wanting to be apart of the movement. In 1984, I began collecting the hits I heard being mixed live on the radio...then started to do parties in high school which eventually lead me to a professional career as a DJ. In 1989, I officially came out..and friends that I met at a gay youth group persuaded me to join them in a night out...which soon became a regular thing. I was always fascinated more with what was going on in a DJ booth than dancing the night away...so I started to introduce myself & network with a few DJ's...that lead me to working my first job-not as a DJ-but as a front of house employee. In junior high, Deanne would listen to the local college radio station that was playing the freshest hip-hop, R&B, and dance music every Friday night. He has been a club DJ since 1998, when he started spinning at Wild Angels (Formerly Melody Club), and then at the University Club in Gainesville, FL. Upon moving to Tampa for grad school, he played at Brandon City Limits, Night Moves, and Metropolis, and occasionally did one-night-fill-ins at various other places around Tampa Bay area and Orlando. In 2006 his career brought him to Tallahassee, FL where he became a resident DJ at Splash Bar Florida and recently at Club Rayn. He has been a musician since elementary school and a drummer and percussionist since 6th grade. While gigging as a musician, an industry friend offered Felicia her first opportunity behind the turntables at a local nightclub. Her musical background was a plus, making her a natural as a club DJ. Immersed in both arenas of dance and rock music, she also began doing local studio recording work. As a rock guitarist and a club disc jockey, Felicia strove to break down doors and make her mark during a time when it was rare for women in the genre. The only way to achieve acceptance, was to perform and spin as fiercely as possible! While a resident DJ at Denver's venues, Traxx-Paradise Garage, Stars, and Boulder's Radd nightclub, Felicia continued to perform with a number of bands locally and nationally. Bands in her resume include, Snowblind (Denver), Infrared (Ann Arbor), The Music Zoo (An Arbor/Detroit), Isis (Detroit), and Surrender Dorothy (Boulder). Surrender Dorothy most notably landed an overseas DOD rock concert tour of the Far East and South Pacific. After a twelve-year absence from spinning, and a short-lived stint as a lighting technician I’ve once again devoted my life to a dream and wish that I can neither escape from, nor would I desire too. I entered into the “night life” scene in 1986 at the age of seventeen and became instantly hooked. It’s a lifestyle that I have chosen to live and will do so until my last days on this planet. I can quite honestly say that the so-called “nite life” experience has given an education in the range of human emotions and “street wise” awareness that I simply could not have garnered from any other source.
